Tournament News - and a good night out!
The Club had a very interesting and enjoyable time this week-end, 26th September, with the Fun Doubles Tournament organised and run by Davy Rogers, and a great evening meal at the up-market Artio Restaurant, organised by Claire and Barry Levick. We had 13 entrants for the tournament, which was eventually won by Louis. We had a joint second and third, Bill and Tookey.
I would like to thank all those who came down and gave their all in this event, and Davy for his organising and arranging of the tournament. Being an Events Organiser is not a job to be envied, and I think the Club should be grateful for Davy's input to the Club.
The evening meal was supported by 14 members and guests, and proved to be a great social occasion. Again, my thanks go to Claire, and also Barry, for their efforts to ensure we all enjoyed ourselves, and to the members who turned up to make the evening so enjoyable.
Celebration of Teresa's life
There is to a celebration of the life of William Toomey's mother Teresa (Terry), on September 6th at 6pm, at the Richter 10 Tavern in Emba. The family has requested the pleasure of your company at this celebration, and any-one you may know connected with the family. The dress code is casual, and the theme as mentioned, a celebration of Teresa's life. I do hope as many of you who can make it will be there for support.
Where were you?
On behalf of the Emba Baminton Club I would like to pass on to Claire and Barry Levick our sincere thanks for a brilliant BBQ evening at their house in Marathounta on Saturday. The setting was excellent, the water games great fun, even for the oldies!!!, the pool and darts entertainment entertaining for those with good eyesight, (at least we managed to miss the two little dogs with the arrows). The supply of good food, supplied by the hosts and the 20+ members who attended, was beyond expectations, and there was still plenty to eat when we left at 11.30pm. For those of you were unable to attend, you missed a fun filled afternoon and evening, and for those who did turn up, thank you all, I am sure you will agree with us that the day was a resounding success. Thank you again Claire and Barry, and we all look forward to the next event with great expectations.Easter '08 - Pictures from our Club Outing, Easter 2008.
